T2W Saturday Topic: Growing Godly Friendships

Happy Fall and we hope you'll join us as we kick off another great year of Women's Ministry here at Pleasantview Baptist Church!

We are so glad you're here to learn more about the upcoming opportunities to engage with other women at PBC as well as women outside our church walls!

Our goal in PBC Women's Ministry is to encourage ladies to live a life worthy of the Lord, grow in their knowledge of God and to be used by Him to bless others for His glory (Colossians 1:10). We believe one way to live this call to action is to seek out Godly Friendships.

Two words that have been floating around PBC for some time now are Better Together. The Bible teaches the importance of having Christian community and supporting one another in our walk with Christ. God even created two humans in the beginning instead of one for a purpose,

Then the Lord said, "It is not good for the man to be alone..." (see Gen 2:18a)

People in general were made to interact and experience life with others. Nothing is more true when it comes to women. God designed us to be relational; in our families, in our church, our community and in close friendships.

A deep friendship is something most of us long for. We want the friend to share life with, to laugh with, and to cry with. So why does it seem so hard at times for us to connect with other women on a deeper level than the occasional "How are you?" as we race down the hall at church or in line at the grocery store? We'll dive into this question and also to answer "What does a godly friendship look like?"at our October 31st T2W Saturday's meet up.

Our prayer is you'll find encouragement if you've been lonely and searching for a friend or want to discover how to grow deeper friendships with the ones you may already have. Our hope and strength in this area will come from seeing how Christ is our ultimate BFF. Let's learn and be reminded together how we can apply His love for us to our friends!

We will all be challenged as well, to look at a few specific friendships from the Bible and how to apply those same concepts to our lives and truly desire to grow and become stronger together in Christ!

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. -- Proverbs 27:17

So won't you join us Saturday October 31st, 9:00-11:00am at Waz Up Coffee House just down the street on Fernell from the church?

We would love to see you there and bring a guest! Childcare will be available for children ages birth-Pre-K. You are more than welcome to bring older children to the coffee house if needed. Please call the church office 316-788-3734 on or before Thursday 10/29 if childcare is needed.
